Under minimal supervision, the Instructional Designer II position is ideally suited to a creative person with leadership skills who thrives in a dynamic environment and is excited to work within a global, Canadian and US-based team. The Instructional Designer II position works closely with the L&D team, including leading or mentoring other Instructional Designers to deliver quality content. This position requires an individual to have a proven track record in design principles including ADDIE methodology and Adult Learning Theory, in creating training materials for a corporate audience. This individual will leverage standard design tools to create end-to-end materials (i.e. eLearning, micro-learning, facilitators’ & participants’ guides, etc.) This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to work for a highly respected, financial services company where his or her work may have meaningful impact on the organization’s success.




  • Create high quality, effective learning solutions using a variety of media.
  • Leverage design skills and expertise in both content and graphics to deliver engaging training materials.
  • Specialize in either content design or eLearning/graphic design.
  • In conjunction with the Sr. Manager, lead small and large-scale instructional design projects for contact center as well as corporate training initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments, task analysis, and/or content analysis to understand skill gaps and determine appropriate learning and development solutions.
  • Work effectively with subject matter experts, trainers and internal clients to create engaging content and manage training projects.
  • Design, develop and maintain training materials aligned with the client’s priorities and objectives. This will include: designing & developing curricula, standalone courses, participants and instructor guides, for instructor-led training (ILT), self-study, just-in –time learning / webinars and eLearning.
  • Drive innovation by incorporating new learning approaches into the company’s training solutions.
  • Assist in the creation and enforcement of processes, standards and training best practices.
  • Work with production teams (documentation team, trainers, courseware developers, …) to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Support Train-the-Trainer approach to prepare trainers for effective classroom delivery.
  • Help develop training team by giving periodic lunch and learns / workshops on latest training and development techniques/research.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications (skills/experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • 5 years of experience in a corporate environment with proven ability to manage workload and juggle priorities.
  • Excellent proficiency in the written word (spelling & grammar).
  • Proven ability to work with grace under pressure in a dynamic, constantly changing, fast-paced team environment.
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task, methodical, effective time manager.
  • Engaged, genuine & transparent team member who practices empathy, tact & discretion.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the payment processing industry is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, Visio, Power Point.
  • Experience working with Articulate 360 and/or Captivate.   
  • Ability to work in both French and English is preferred.
