This position will work in the Corporate Project Management Office. A highly motivated, skilled project manager with proven experience managing projects from initial concept to launch. The Portfolio Manager will oversee a portfolio with managing multiple projects at a time working efficiently with internal and external stakeholders to define project objectives, create project plans, manage the budget, and adherence to deadlines established.

A successful candidate must have a general understanding of payment processing, as well an extensive background in project management




  • Responsible for the management and delivery of projects within a single portfolio.
  • Adherence to defining the project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Ensure organization readiness project deliverables as well as the technical readiness are identified within the project scope and schedule (plan) documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Where required, negotiate with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

Qualifications (skills/experience)/Requirements


  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including cross-team collaboration, coaching and team building.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and development teams.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as detailed knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Adequate level of a business and technical background to provide leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately evaluate project risks and issues.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading software development projects to ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel and matrix management.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • PMP Certification Desired.
  • Skilled at defining, and monitoring and controlling the scope, cost, schedule baselines; Skilled at defining and managing critical path; Skilled practitioner of governance and resource management; Skilled practitioner of formal change request management.
  • Skilled at utilizing MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2+ years project management experience and payment processing/fintech or similar industry.
  • Travel up to 25%


Working Language


  • English (written and spoken) is the language used 99% of the time, as work colleagues and clientele are both geographically dispersed within and outside of Quebec.
  • Internal communications between colleagues occur in English or in French, depending on the parties involved. Strategic suppliers are located outside of Quebec.
  • A basic knowledge of French is required for any position located within Quebec. English is required for this position, as it could report to someone outside of Quebec, and requires frequent out of province communications.
